|Description:||826LA will be providing personal statement and college application essay support to high school junior and senior students. Over the course of three sessions, students will be guided through selecting and drafting University of California Personal Insight Questions, the Cal State EOP application responses, or Common App. Students will also receive presentations on writing successful personal statements, and work with volunteer tutors to finish outlines and as many drafts as possible for either all four PIQs, all EOP responses, and as many Common App prompts as possible.|
Please note: Students MUST complete the Brainstorming Worksheets prior to the workshop. Attendance is mandatory for all three sessions:
|Teacher Bio:||LaTesha works with high school and middle school students throughout South & West LA to help improve expository and creative writing skills. LaTesha believes that is important to help students learn how to put their life experiences into words as an act of self empowerment. In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding.|
